Julia and Peter grew up in the same town, Easton, MA. They were first introduced in May 2014 and since the moment they met, they have spent every day together (but seriously). As is often the case, Newport provided the perfect near by weekend escape for the couple while they were dating and our little city by the sea was their first choice when it came time to choose a wedding venue. Making their wedding a full weekend of events only served to extend the joyous events. From Thursday’s sunset sail and house party, to Friday’s rehearsal dinner at Castle Hill Inn, and Saturday’s sea front nuptials at Belle Mer, the weekend was jam packed of wedding fun!
Focusing on their love of each other, food, and Newport, Julia and Peter carefully planned their celebration with as many meaningful details as possible. Tying in the grooms landscaping career, the couple choose mini potted succulents with a “Take one home and let love grow” sign for their favors. A recent law graduate, in honor of the bride a signature cocktail was created named “The LawN & Order”, a mix of our favorite tequila, fresh lime juice, and soda. Using a cookbook as a guest book, guests were asked to sign the page with their favorite recipe. Best of all, Rachel Elliott Photography captured each detail perfectly.
Both the bride and groom are extremely close to their families. The Father of the Groom was the best man making the bridal party an affair for the whole family. In honor of the bride’s late rock n’ roll loving father, the bride walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of “Beast of Burden”. As an extra special treat, the bride and her mother/Matron of Honor preformed a surprise dance during the reception (As seen on Huffington Post), proving that love is stronger than the mothers Cystic Fibrosis battle. Now that’s a parent dance no one will ever forget!
