Danielle and Omer met over a decade ago as students at The George Washington University. While Danielle may not have realized it at the time, Omer always had a hunch that somehow their paths would cross and fate would bring them together. The next 10 years brought many highs and lows, but there was always something special that drew them back to each other. While it took a bit longer than he would have liked, Omer and Danielle finally ended up realizing their true feelings for each other in the Fall of 2013.
Once Omer and Danielle finally started dating, there wasn’t much doubt about being on the path to marriage. About a year later, the conversation started to get serious and Omer began to plan the perfect way to propose to Danielle.
The first thought that came to Omer’s mind was to add yet another memory together in DC. With help from Danielle’s parents and her best friend, Omer managed to convince Danielle she was coming down to DC for a girls weekend at the spa while he was spending a weekend away.
Once Danielle arrived in DC, she was greeted at the airport by her best friend who handed her the first clue of a scavenger hunt designed to take Danielle down memory lane and prepare her for the engagement. After a few stops at some GW landmarks and the obligatory salon and manicure stop, Danielle was finally directed towards her graduation brick in the Quad. There, Omer was waiting and asked Danielle to spend the rest of their lives together.
Growing up in the North East, Danielle’s family constantly explored the surrounding areas and have always had a fondness for Newport. When Omer finally moved to Boston to be with Danielle, they began traveling together and reliving many of Danielle’s childhood memories as a couple. On their first trip to Newport together, they felt something special in the air and knew a Newport mansion would be the perfect backdrop for the elegant and classic wedding Danielle had always dreamed about. After an exciting day walking around Newport, the last stop of the day was Rosecliff. Upon setting foot in the main ballroom and looking at the ocean from the terrace, they both knew it was the place the wanted to exchange their vows. The wedding rings exchanged during the ceremony were Danielle’s paternal grandparents – who unfortunately were not there to celebrate with them.
This beautiful couple was kind enough to share their wedding pictures with us and we are so glad they did! When you’re done, find more Newport wedding inspiration on our Pinterest board!
