This couple fell in love with the idea of a Rhode Island wedding as soon as they visited the beautiful Belle Mer. Its South Beach meets Newport vibe was just what they wanted with ample outdoor space and stunning water views and Pell Bridge made for a gorgeous backdrop.
Their palette of white and blush with hints of silver was accented with lots of candles, and floating flowers grown locally by Bella Floral Design. Their signature cocktail “The Thames Twist” was a homage to their favorite street in Newport, and the bride’s brother designed the signs that were showcased at each bar. Kelly McVeigh Events brought their vision to life while Alex Paul Photography and Artistic Wedding Films captured it on film. Our favorite part? A tie between the special elements that tied homage to the bride’s grandfather in the form of a silk tie tied to the couples Chuppah and the Groom’s grandfather’s tallit, and the Kiddush cup itself which was the bride’s grandmother’s from her 1950s wedding!
A piece of advice from the bride: “Remind yourself to stay present and grounded throughout the whole planning process, but especially on your wedding day. Be prepared for things to go wrong and to be ok with that going into it. We kept joking saying the more mistakes at your wedding, the better the marriage and that kept us laughing when things inevitably went wrong.”
