“Nicholas and I started dating in the Fall of 2012. We both lived in South Boston and worked in the city. From the beginning, we realized we wanted the same things out of life and became inseparable almost immediately. By Spring of 2015 (May 9, 2015 to be exact), Nick proposed! He booked a trip to Chicago, IL – one of our absolute favorite cities, and proposed on an early morning walk around Navy Pier. It was the most perfect moment of my life. Now, we’re going on 5 years together, a little over 5 months married, and each day we are stronger than the day before.
The moment we walked into Belle Mer, we fell in love. We knew it was the spot to bring our dream wedding to life. For planning, I focused on diving into the details and setting up meetings with vendors while Nick took the reigns working with the band/DJ and videographer. Not your typical groom, Nick had strong opinions and I love him for that.
Trying to mesh our wants for our wedding day and a top notch experience for our family and friends, we decided to work in some of my Lebanese culture. I am 100% Lebanese, and Nick has visited Lebanon with me twice now, falling in love with the culture, food and traditions. It really meant a lot to us personally to include some Lebanese traditions, and we knew it would mean a lot to my family and to our guests traveling from Lebanon. From doing a second father daughter dance to a special Lebanese song and cutting our cake with a sword, to special desserts and having belly dancers perform the dabke (a traditional Lebanese dance), our wedding day was full of fun and unique elements.
We were truly blessed by our wedding day, and continue to be blessed and extremely grateful for all the wonderful family and friends in our life that came together to celebrate our most favorite day ever.”
