Kristen and Greg met at the University of Connecticut during their Freshman orientation the summer of 2006. They remained in touch over the summer prior and couldn’t wait to get back to campus and see each other. It’s said that everything happens for a reason, and it was there on campus that Kristen and Greg formed a close friendship that eventually lead to their marriage!

During their time at UConn the two fell in love over study nights in Homer Library and fun times at nickel nights. After graduation, their relationship grew as the couple moved to Boston spending summers vacationing in Newport with friends and family. Between days spent on 2nds Beach, dinners at the Cooke house for romantic dinners,  and cookouts at Greg;s Aunts’ cottage – the couple fell deeper in love with each other and with Newport. September 2015, the city by the sea became even more special for this couple and their love story when Greg proposed during a perfect sunset at Inn at Castle Hill. He pulled Kristen aside, got down on one knee, and asked her ever so sweetly to marry him.

The couple had always loved Hotel Viking, and it was one of their first ideas for a wedding venue. With the perfect location, elegant rooming options for guests, and a ballroom big enough for all their friends, it was clearly the best choice. Their wedding day was pure happiness from start to finish. It was a beautiful, sunny November day when Kristen got ready in the Marble Suite. Getting to look out over the rooftops of Newport as she got ready and read a letter from her soon-to-be husband, she felt all the love surrounding her. Before the ceremony the bride and bridesmaid took a cruise in the trolley with her family around 2nd beach – it was so serene and the perfect way to reflect before the big moment.

Kristen and Greg could not have imagined getting married anywhere but Newport and we couldn’t be more happy that they shared their special day with us. They got to share their love for each other and a charming island with their family and friends for one of the happiest and most special days of their lives!
