There’s nothing like a summer wedding in Newport at the beach! To start the day, the girls rented a condo right across from Perrotti Park in downtown Newport, then walked across the street for a few photos with Whiting Photography. Starting the official fun with photos at Ochre Court at Salve Regina helped set the mood for the day. The last stop was their ceremony and wedding reception at the Rotunda Ballroom at Easton’s Beach. Daisy and Ryan got married in a quick ceremony right on the boardwalk, they then took a couples turns on the carousel and were able to enjoy cocktail hour thanks to their earlier first look at Ochre Court. Jesse and Jessica were set up by a mutual friend and future bridesmaid at their wedding while attending Virginia Tech in 2010. Jesse was drafted to the Tampa Bay Rays his junior year of college and the couple’s relationship blossomed while they dated long distance. Ashley and John’s vintage styled glitter and gold seaside wedding at the Glen Manor House in Portsmouth, RI was a wedding photographer’s dream for so many reasons! Bride Ashley’s custom Lindee Daniel dress that looked like something out of a fairytale, a French Chateau style venue overlooking the Sakonnet River, and glitter and gold everywhere! But there was one thing about this wedding that would’ve had all documentary photographers swooning… the light. Natural, sun-drenched light is what we live for, and this wedding was overflowing with it! Kerin and Ryan’s Regatta Place Wedding
Kerin & Ryan picked Newport for their wedding location, almost on a whim. Both had never spent too much time in our quaint coastal town but after a visit, they knew that it was the perfect place to host their wedding. A local destination of sorts, Newport provided the perfect place for their friends and family to escape to without much traveling. And with cooler temperatures and small crowds, the weekend event was the perfect way to experience Newport in a leisurely and relaxed pace. Kerin & Ryan started the day in downtown Newport, both getting ready in separate houses right on Thames Street. Kerin’s house even had a top floor roof deck that overlooked downtown and Newport Harbor! Following a lovely and intimate ceremony, they headed to the magnificent Elms Mansion for wedding portraits with their wedding party & family. Finally, they headed back to Regatta Place, located right in Newport Harbor, for a night of dancing and celebrating. Their day was a great mix of everything wonderful about Newport – the history and coastal charm was the perfect compliment for Kerin & Ryan’s day as captured by Deborah Zoe Photography. Danielle and Dave’s Gold and Cranberry Atlantic Resort Wedding
Danielle and Dave met freshman year at the University of Rhode Island through mutual friends before a URI basketball game. On the first day of Junior year, they ran into each
other at CharlieO’s bar and all it took was that first date for them to “go steady”. On the weekends they made trips to Newport and fell in love with each other and the quaint seaside town. They even named their Goldendoodle Rhody because of the special place Rhode Island holds in their hearts!
A little bit of rain couldn’t dampen the joyous spirits of these two lovebirds. Though their big day was perhaps a little damper than most would hope for, the grey clouds only served to let their love shine through all the more. After a first meeting while in their college years at Bentley University, Kayla and Steve happened to meet up in years later when they both lived in NYC. The couple loved the City by the Sea’s convenient location and sea side charm. Plus, as they later found out, the bride’s grandparents met in Newport at the Hotel Viking at a Greek dance. A light breeze was coming off the ocean and the sky was a deep blue. It was the perfect day for an oceanside wedding! Now add a beautiful couple like Courtney and Jeff and the Castle Hill Inn and all were speechless with the gorgeous sites of the day. Courtney and Jeff are so obviously in love. They incorporated many special and personal touches into their wedding day like small pieces such as Courtney wearing the same headpiece that her mother wore on her wedding day, as well as big things like having Thorr, the Athletic Director at University of Rhode Island officiate their ceremony. Two New Yorkers, Kaitlyn and Adam, made their way to Newport for their Fort Adams Wedding.
