Dan and Ashley met the old fashioned way…on Match.com. He was just finishing up his C++ class for his software engineering degree late one night when he saw a beautiful picture pop up. He was exhausted and right at the very end of the semester. He shut his computer and decided to just go to bed. A few seconds later he opened it back up and sent a quick a message. He told his best friend later that night that he was going to marry the girl he had just messaged. Seems like love at first sight really is a thing!
They had their first date about a month later and Ashley wore the same dress they had our first date to their engagement session. It was also that very same pink dress that Dan saw a photo of Ashley twirling in on her Match.com profile. Dan proposed in Newport after a dinner at 21 Bowen’s on a cold December evening with nothing but the glow of the stars above and the sounds of the boats rocking in the wind. Perfection.
Bride Ashley is a wedding photographer by trade. Collecting ideas from all the weddings she’s captured, Ashley was able to craft a 100% unique wedding that was all about she and Dan. From their homemade cookie favors and the wedding arch built by the groom the morning of (yes of) the wedding, their day was all they’d dreamed of and more. When the couple purchases their first home, they hope the arch will stand as a testament to their love in a new backyard. <3 Stella Mia Photography captured their big day at Quidnessett Country Club with perfect lighting and some adorable couple portraits!
