After just months of dating, Liz broke the news that she had accepted a one year teaching position in South Korea. Chris knew she was the one and quickly bought a computer with the ability to Skype. After a year of (very long) distance and a few trips from Boston to Seoul, Liz returned home and they knew their relationship could withstand anything.
Soon after Chris proposed the couple decided on marrying in Newport, the home of Liz’s grandparents and a place filled with great memories for the couple. From there the planning was easy sailing as soon as they booked Kylie Lynn Photography for their wedding at the historic sea front Fort Adams! The grooms mother and stepfather cut down birch trees in their backyard to build the arch for the ceremony! The couples table cards were nautically named after special parts of their life (e.g. USS Korea, USS Pretzel – the couples cat) with a paragraph on the back explaining the significance. Liz also hand made almost everything for the day of, including the napkins (bought dish cloths cut and sewed), the boutineers, the welcome signs, food signs, calligraphed name tags, YAY flag programs, table runners, pinwheels, corn hole, and the save the date and invitations, RSVP Mad libs-displayed at our wedding, complete with superlatives. This cute couple is the living embodiment of the song, “5000 miles” and as their sweet smiles are proof, true love can weather any distance!
