Tasha and Mike’s CastleHill Inn Wedding
We don’t often get intimate Newport weddings. There are a lot of grand 100+ people events and we love them! Newport also is home to some personal intimate weddings with just the couples closest friends and family. There’s something for everyone. Today’s wedding is one of those intimate affairs where the pictures will make you want to un-invite all your work friends and run away with just your besties and your family.
A Gilded Elopement – Styled Shoot
For our winter styled shoot we explored Lark Hotel Group‘s Gilded Hotel in Newport. With the perfect combination of old world charm and modern accessories, Gilded is a get away dream come true. For part two of our winter styled shoot we imaged a Newport elopement (for Part one see our Gilded Engagement post). With the models in something a little more formal, we played up the hotels intimate spaces. We started in the billiards room, moved on to the magenta front room, then up two explore two of the suites on the second floor. Every room allowed for a different set of pictures. With so many gorgeous spaces, colors, and wall papers, there’s a room for every mood.

Castle Hill – Epitome of a Newport Sea Side Venue
Castle Hill is the venue on the hill for the city by the sea. With historic old-world charm and all the grace of an upscale Newport venue. Surrounded by ocean views and sweet breezes, Castle Hill perfectly combines the effortless charm of a backyard party with the elegance and formality of a 5 star hotel. It’s the best of both worlds. Surrounded by hydrangeas and perfectly weathered shingles Castle Hill is the epitome of New England perfection.
Ever dream of siting by the sea with your new spouse? Castle Hill has the perfect spot. A large lawn with adirondack chairs galore, bridal party and guests can relax with a drink and some ocean views. If you’re dreaming on an intimate 50 person party or a high-society 300 person gala, Castle Hill is your venue. Ceremonies can be held inside or outside. Their custom sail-cloth tent makes the outdoors feel as luxurious as indoors.
The fun doesn’t end with the reception, guests can reserve rooms or whole beach houses. Just a few feet from the sand, you and your guests can wake up, roll out for morning coffee by the sea, and get ready for the festivities. Sounds like perfection.

Friday Fav: Turn your bouquet into jewelry
It’s the morning after your wedding. You’re running off to the airport and you see the bouquet laying on the table. Is it worth keeping? What does anyone even do with their bouquet after the big day…
There are a few options. If you’ve got patience and a steady hand you can make a great shadow box with the dried stems. But, that’s a lot of work and time and effort. Or… You could have your blooms turned into beads. Yes, beads.
There are a few companies that can do the magic. My favorites are Bella Beads, Timeless Moments, and Memorial Beads. For each company, you send away a bouquet or a single bloom, and they can make anything from a single bead for a Pandora style bracelet, a whole necklace, a bracelet, earrings, rings, a charm, etc. What a fun way to re-use your special (expensive) wedding day flowers!
