The Hotel Viking first opened its doors in May of 1926. Located at the top of Newport, Rhode Island’s Historic Hill has been the ideal backdrop for a dream Newport wedding venue for decades. Right in the heart of downtown Newport, this venue is ideal for a couple who likes to be right in the action. Just a 5 minute walk to the harbor, Bellevue Avenue, dozens of historical attractions and hundreds of shops and restaurants, Hotel Viking is a happening place. With a certain mark of old world elegance and a full array of modern amenities including a rooftop bar, full service spa, and tea room. The hotel won Newport Life Magazines 2015 Best of Awards for their luxurious accommodations.

Couples can choose from two ballrooms, the original event venue on the first floor, the Viking Ballroom, with accompanying outside deck, and the newer facility on the ground floor, The Bellevue Ballroom, right off of the terrace and around the corner from the Spa. Both spaces are elegant and beautiful. Cocktail hour can be held in the Colonnade room on the first floor, or outside on the terrace.

A few years ago, Hotel Viking bought Kay Chapel, a small church just 2 blocks away from the hotel. Couples can arrange to use the sweet space as the ceremony spot.
