The Ballerina Bride | A Styled Shoot by The Newport Bride

Meet the lovely Leila. The second she saw this soft pink gown, she started squealing. The layers of pink tulle make the ballgown look soft and light as air. The train feels grand but still playful. We played up the innocent feel with a ballerina bun and some sparkling bling. As you can see in these pictures, the gown was not only beautiful to look at, but fun to wear! The whole time, the crew was just giggling. Such fun! Is this ballerina bride style your favorite look so far? If you love this dress, comment below. We know where you can get one!

15 Reasons Brides Need Bling

Bling isn’t every girls best friend, but for the bride who loves to sparkle, the options for bridal bling are limitless. These are just a few of the glittering options. Some bridal salons have a seamstress on staff who can custom make belts, hair pieces, necklaces, etc. There’s a shop right in downtown Newport that specializes in custom bridal pieces. Check out Andria Bird Bride to see the pieces inspired by her brides. The Julianna Necklace, she designed that one for me!

Reception Venue: Glen Manor

Like something out of a modern fairytale, Glen Manor House is every princess’s dream come true. With it’s gilded age glamour inside and sweeping views of the ocean outside, wherever you are there’s a view that can’t be beat. Ceremonies can be held outside on the lawn overlooking the water, in the manicured garden on the side of the property, or inside in one of the beautiful rooms. It’s like something out of a fairy tale. A bit smaller and more intimate than the Newport mansions, and less known, Glen Manor is the perfect venue for a one-of-a-kind couple. Located on a good piece of land in Portsmouth just a few miles away from the hubbub of Newport, there’s no chance of foot traffic disrupting pictures of a ceremony.

In the early 1900s Glen Manor was built as a private home. in 1959 it was sold to the Sisters of the Sacred Heart and turned into a school for children. In the 1970s the property was sold to the city of Portsmouth and restored to its original glory. Today the property is used as an event space.

Whether you like it for the history, the architecture, or the location, you can’t go wrong with Glen Manor. Fit for royalty, the couple that get’s married here is sure to start their lives together on the right foot.

35 Too Cute Wedding Signs

Every event needs good signage, a wedding is no different. Even it’s it’s just showing guests where to park and how to find the loo, it might as well be pretty to look at. These wedding signs are just too cute. All the gold and fancy chalk lettering, it’s enough to make any sign look fancy!

Art Deco Gatsby Wedding

Think of the Gatsby ultimate’s party. There’s sparking lights, beaded dresses and  fancy suits, and lots and lots of champaign. Sounds like the perfect wedding, right?

Roaring 20s weddings are all the rage. It’s fun, it’s vintage, and it lets everyone feel like they’re playing dress up for a day. The original Great Gatsby movie (1974) was shot in part at Marble House and Rosecliff right here in Newport. These turn of the century “summer cottages” are glamorous and totally movie worthy. 115 years later, they’re definitely wedding worthy. A Gatsby themed wedding combines all the glamour and grace with a rocking party and great clothes. What more could a bride, or her guests, want!
