Sweet and Sassy – The Patterned Pink Gown

First of all, let’s just talk about this gown. First of all, it’s PINK! Second, it has this crazy full skirt and makes the best swooshing noise. This dress was by far the favorite from our styled shoot at Hotel Viking earlier this month. We paired this statement dress with a lots of pearls, a sweet little pony tail and a sassy cat eye. Stunning.

What do you think of the color and designs? Would you rock this fashionable dress for your wedding?

The Sexy Boho Bride | A Styled Shoot by The Newport Bride

Meet the lovely Joanna. She is rocking this sexy boho lace gown. For this look we wanted something easy, slightly casual but still totally sexy. I think we nailed it. This dress works perfectly with the cathedral veil, the birdcage veil, and even the headdress. It’s magical! Everything works, everything looks good. Would you rock this lace curve hugger? Why or why not?

Styled Shoot Part 1: The Set Up

Last weekend we held our first styled shoot. Thank to the generous collaboration of some beautiful vendors, everything came together perfectly. What girl doesn’t want to play dress up in a gorgeous wedding dress?

We started the day with 3 models, 7 dresses, a dozen pairs of shoes, bouquets, and jewelry; the full shabang. After hours of dress changes and flying hairspray, we came away with 6 polished looks. Over the next few weeks we’re going to debut the outfits. There’s inspiration for every bride, something boho, something pink, something retro, something classic, some that are pure fun! Stay tuned and check back to see all the gorgeousness!

How to Create Your Wedding Hashtag

Event the best of photographers can’t be everywhere at once. That’s why you have wedding guests! Give them a wedding hashtag to post along side the pictures and everyone can see all the fun forever! Posting pictures is the easy part, coming up with a hashtag, that can be tricky. These 5 tips will help you come up with the perfect tag for your big day.

1. Make it easy to remember – Get clever but don’t get crazy. Your hashtag should be something easy to remember so guests aren’t struggling. The easier you make it for them to tag pictures, the more pictures you’ll get.

2. Get punny – Do your names ryme with anything? Is there a funny play-on-words? People love puns and they’ll love tagging your wedding pictures in a coupley-themes pun.

3. Capitalize first letters – When putting your hashtag on printed materials capitalize the first letter on each word to make it easier for guests to read and understand. It makes a run-on-sentence LookMoreIntentional andlesslikeaclutteredmess.

4. Check for other users – With millions of people using social media, there’s a chance your wedding hashtag has been used. Make sure it doesn’t link to anything unsavory and do a quick hashtag search before making a final decision.

5. Use your names or wedding date The more personalized your hashtag is, the less chance there is of someone else having already used it and the more likely your guests are to remember. Use your initials and wedding day, or your first and last names.

Check out some of the cutest wedding hashtags we’ve seen on Instagram.

Reception Venue: Glen Manor

Like something out of a modern fairytale, Glen Manor House is every princess’s dream come true. With it’s gilded age glamour inside and sweeping views of the ocean outside, wherever you are there’s a view that can’t be beat. Ceremonies can be held outside on the lawn overlooking the water, in the manicured garden on the side of the property, or inside in one of the beautiful rooms. It’s like something out of a fairy tale. A bit smaller and more intimate than the Newport mansions, and less known, Glen Manor is the perfect venue for a one-of-a-kind couple. Located on a good piece of land in Portsmouth just a few miles away from the hubbub of Newport, there’s no chance of foot traffic disrupting pictures of a ceremony.

In the early 1900s Glen Manor was built as a private home. in 1959 it was sold to the Sisters of the Sacred Heart and turned into a school for children. In the 1970s the property was sold to the city of Portsmouth and restored to its original glory. Today the property is used as an event space.

Whether you like it for the history, the architecture, or the location, you can’t go wrong with Glen Manor. Fit for royalty, the couple that get’s married here is sure to start their lives together on the right foot.
