Exactly 1 year ago today, on August 18, 2019 Leisa and Beau were supposed to say “I Do” at their dream venue, Castle Hill Inn. Instead, this bride to be spent her intended wedding day in the hospital recovering from brain surgery. When their second date got moved out due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this positive couple didn’t get the change get them down. When an attorney meets and engineer (and former wedding photographer) in New York City and they eventually get engaged, their love of sailing and travel brings them to Newport Rhode Island for their fall wedding. All Ashley and Brian wanted was a gorgeous Newport sunset and it looked like they wouldn’t get it on their blustery cold and cloudy October wedding day, until moments before sunset and the skies opened up and were colored in pink. In case you didn’t know, there’s a global pandemic going on. Thanks to COVID-19, life looks a little different right now with businesses closed and toilet paper nowhere to be found. There is an element of uncertainty in the air right now, and that holds true for anyone planning a wedding in 2020. Our Couple of the Year Brianna and Nick are doing their best to remain positive through it all while being proactive (hello back update) and focusing on what matters. A wedding day isn’t about a party or a big guest list, it’s about your love. When you focus on love, everything else fades.
Courtney and Joe started their wedding day celebrating with their separate bridal parties in vacation rentals close to their venue. After everyone was beautified, they hopped in a Newport Trolley for photos at The Elm. They said their “I Do”s at the end of a beautiful doc at The Bohlin and danced the night away in their waterfront tent.
