What some might call chance, we call romantic foreshadowing. Years before the proposal happened, Taylor surprised his then-girlfriend Corrine with a trip to Newport. Every summer since the couple returned and when it finally came time to choose a wedding destination, Newport was the only option. Corrine and Taylor visited the Carnegie Abbey Club with family friends for a 4th of July party and instantly fell in love with the nautical vibe, classic elegance, and amazing water views. Plus, Taylor is a diehard golfer and the club’s course is one for the books!
While planning their wedding, Corrine and Taylor gravitated towards simple, clean designs and navy accents. The couple took one of our favorite wedding tips to heart and choose a knowledgeable vendor, then totally trusted their lead! Stoneblossom worked with the happy couple to create a palette containing shades of white with accents of natural green and blue texture. For the ceremony, they arranged hydrangeas, roses, blue thistle, and a touch of seasonal foliage with navy ribbon streamers to line the aisle. Stoneblossom actually encouraged the couple to minimize florals towards the front of the ceremony space so as not to block the jaw-dropping view of the marina and the Narragansett. Now that’s when you know you have a great vendor!
From the great-grandmother’s blue and white handkerchief around the bride’s bouquet to the place card holders handmade by the bride’s sister-in-law and even the “Mr. and Mrs.” chair signs made by the bride’s brother, every detail was navy, nautical, and ultra-personalized. Even the couple’s rehearsal dinner at 41 North was a lobster boil with a long navy and white striped runner and customized lobster bibs.
